Listen to Skie’s reflections on the TxDLA 2007 conference in Galveston.
Skie’s Reflections on TxDLA 2007!
And speaking of networking…
Networking. That’s a word I hear a lot at TxDLA…and one of the biggest reasons I attend the conference every year. But the more time I spend with corporate folks (have you thought about attending one of Elliott Masie’s Learning conferences?) the more I realize THEY’VE got it goin’ on when it comes to networking. Us educators? We’re rank amateurs compared to them! So why aren’t we sharing the wealth better?
One of the cool Web 2.0 tools I’ve found to help us get better at this networking thing (it’s all in who you know, right?) is a service called LinkedIn….it’s free (of course…I AM an educator…lol) and it helps me get connected and keep in touch with people I share interests with. Wouldn’t this come in handy when you’re in need of advice about writing a grant, looking for a team member on a new project, or picking the brain of someone who knows a lot about a certain subject? Â
I’m connected to 52 other people through LinkedIn…why not connect with us and share your knowledge and experience? Who knows? Maybe your dream job is waiting at the other end of a connection!
Once you make your free account, invite me! I’d love to be LinkedIn to you!

moodling k12
Teachers @ Howe Public Schools are using moode -putting curriculum in and using quizzes, assignments, chats , etc as activities for class. Even though they’re in F2F classes they’re using moodle-and kids can email questions, look @ past assignments, grades etc.
Hah! The teachers @ my kids’ school keep saying they don’t wanna get away from face to face and this is a perfect example of having the best of both worlds. Their excuse is shot! I’ve gotta expand the Moodle site I’ve created for them…
Any other moodlers out there? What are you using it for? How’s it going??
